A Rondo and Rondo We Go!

The Rondo Awards are named in honor of 1940's horror movie star Rondo Hatton, whose brief but memorable career was launched as a result of his tragic affliction by acromegaly (a disfiguring growth disorder) which sadly ended his career---and his life, as well. The award, pictured above, is an excellent likeness of its namesake sculpted by illustrator Kerry Gammill.
The Rondo Awards were created in 2002 by the Classic Horror Film Boards to recognize the best in monster research, creativity and genre appreciation. The awards are fan-based, and have no connection to any commercial sponsor. Anyone in fandom can vote or propose nominees. Voting continues through March 21, 2009, and you can cast your ballots here.
