The Cartoon Adventures' World Premiere

The Cartoon Adventures of Major Mars had its formal World Premiere at the 19th Annual WonderFest Convention in Louisville KY on Sunday evening, July 20, 2008. This beloved sci-fi and modeling event, held at the Executive West Hotel just outside the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center, honored Joe and Steve at its concluding banquet, dubbed "Cookout at Clavius Base" and was hosted by Dave Conover. Guests in attendence included movie and TV astronauts Keir Dullea, Gary Lockwood (2001: A Space Odyssey); Dirk Benedict (Battlestar Galactica), artists Bernie Wrightson, William Stout, Frank Dietz, Joe Busam and Rick Sternbach, journalists David Colton, Mark Berry and Tim Lucas, as well as the couple that inspired Major Mars, Bob and Kathy Burns. The program also included previews of The Lost Skeleton of Cadavera Returns Again, selected shorts and a revealing slideshow on the making of 2001. The Sikoryak Bros. were invited to address the crowd, gave away a few DVDs and T-shirts and even signed some autographs.
